With more than two decades of experience as a coach, athletic administrator, recruiter, and program builder, Isiah brings an exceptional combination of leadership, vision, and student-centered excellence to our community. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for athletics 大象影院 Academy Boston as we continue to strengthen our academy sports programs and elevate opportunities for student-athletes from around the world.

In his new role, Isiah will provide strategic leadership across the athletic department while working closely with our academy sports partners, including North American Hockey Academy (NAHA), American Hockey Academy (AHA), and Basketball, to ensure strong alignment between athletics, admissions, academics, student support, and the overall student-athlete experience. He will also lead the development and national expansion of CATS Women’s Basketball, while supporting international recruitment efforts and the continued growth of our auxiliary programs.

Isiah joins CATS Academy Boston after serving as Head Coach of Girls Basketball at Prospect Mountain High School, leading them to the most successful season in school history and a Final Four appearance. Throughout his coaching career, he has helped student-athletes advance to NCAA Division I, Division II, Ivy League, and professional programs, earning a reputation as an outstanding mentor and developer of talent.

Before that, he served as the Athletic Director and Head Basketball Coach at Busche Academy, where he led an international athletic department comprised of more than 110 student-athletes representing 18 countries. In that role, he oversaw a comprehensive athletic program dedicated to student success both on and off the court.

His passion for athlete development is evident throughout his career. Isiah is the founder of REPS Basketball, one of New England’s most respected independent basketball programs, serving more than 150 athletes annually across multiple teams. He also co-founded the International Sports Academy at Hoosac School, creating a highly successful international basketball program that helped student-athletes excel academically, athletically, and in the college recruitment process.

Isiah’s broad experience supporting student growth, building successful programs, and developing strong organizational cultures will be invaluable to the future of CATS Academy Boston athletics.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional procession of graduates, as members of the Class of 2026 proudly entered the gymnasium to the applause of family, friends, faculty, and staff. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as students prepared to mark the culmination of their high school journey.

In his opening address, Dr. Michael Lehan reflected on the significance of the occasion and acknowledged that the Class of 2026 truly embodies the mission of CATS Academy Boston: to help students grow into confident learners, compassionate peers, and ethical leaders ready for a global future. He praised the graduates for their perseverance, character, and commitment throughout their time at the school.

Dr. Lehan also took a moment to recognize the invaluable support of the parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends who have accompanied students throughout their educational journey. As a touching tribute, each attendee received a single rose, symbolizing the shared dedication, encouragement, and love that helped make this milestone possible.

A highlight of the ceremony was the Valedictory Address delivered by Brazilian student Roger, who stood as Valedictorian of the Class of 2026. As one of only 200 students selected nationwide, and one of just five recipients from Massachusetts, AJ will receive up to $40,000 over four years to support his engineering studies at Cornell University. In addition to the scholarship, he will have the opportunity to pursue a paid internship with Amazon after his first year of college, gaining invaluable hands-on experience and mentorship from industry leaders.

Reflecting on this accomplishment, AJ shared:

Miguel Bocachica is a highly respected basketball coach and program builder whose experience spans high school, scholastic, grassroots, and professional basketball. A Philadelphia native and graduate of Imhotep Charter High School, Bocachica played collegiately at LIU Brooklyn, the University of Great Falls, and West Chester University before spending two years playing professionally in Puerto Rico, a foundation that gives him unique perspective both as a competitor and a mentor.

His coaching career began at nationally-ranked Imhotep Charter, where he served as an assistant for three seasons. During that time, he helped lead the program to three Philadelphia Public League Championships and three PIAA State Championships while maintaining a consistent Top 5 national ranking, an extraordinary run of excellence that established the standard for his coaching career.

Bocachica went on to become Head Coach at West Catholic Preparatory High School, where he transformed the program into one of Pennsylvania’s premier basketball destinations. Over seven seasons, he guided West Catholic to its first-ever PIAA State Championship in 2023 and a second state title in 2025. His teams reached back-to-back Philadelphia Catholic League Final Fours, produced multiple Division I student-athletes, and maintained a 100% graduation and college-placement rate, a testament to his belief that basketball is a vehicle for life-long success.

His accolades include Philadelphia Catholic League Coach of the Year (2022), PIAA 3A Coach of the Year (2023), and Pennsylvania State Coach of the Year (2025). Recognition that reflects both his competitive results and the culture he builds around his players.

Students from across the school were invited to audition, with no prior performance experience required. This open and inclusive approach encouraged aspiring performers of all backgrounds and skill levels to step outside their comfort zones and embrace a new artistic challenge. Following auditions, the selected cast embarked on an intensive rehearsal process, meeting three times a week to develop their acting, singing, and movement skills while building the ensemble spirit essential to live theater.

The production featured several students taking part in their very first musical. Among them was Defne, who took on the iconic role of Dorothy despite never having performed in a musical before. Her outstanding performance reflected the department鈥檚 commitment to casting students based on talent, potential, dedication, and work ethic rather than prior experience alone. The success of many first-time performers demonstrated the supportive and encouraging environment fostered throughout the rehearsal process.

The musical was also a truly collaborative endeavor that brought together students, faculty, and multiple departments across the school. Music Direction was led by Mr. Patrick Dalton, whose live piano accompaniment added warmth and energy to every performance. Costumes were designed and created by Fashion Teacher Ms. Allie Doyle, helping transport audiences to the colorful world of Oz. Technical Direction was overseen by Mr. Kent Archer and Ms. Helen Haggerty, with additional support from Mr. Mark Phelan. Student Roger played an integral role in the production鈥檚 technical achievements, taking responsibility for the lighting design and operation, as well as the impressive robotics featured in the final show. Behind the curtain, a dedicated student backstage crew worked tirelessly on costume changes, stage management, set construction, and prop design, ensuring every performance ran seamlessly.

Like any ambitious theatrical production, The Wizard of Oz presented its share of challenges. One of the most complex elements was the construction and operation of the mechanical Wizard head. Through innovative problem-solving and close collaboration between student Roger and faculty members Ms. Helen Haggerty and Mr. Mark Phelan, the team successfully brought this technically demanding feature to life. Their perseverance and ingenuity embodied the collaborative spirit that defined the entire production process.

Participating in live theater provides students with invaluable opportunities for personal and artistic growth. Through the rehearsal and performance process, students develop confidence, communication skills, discipline, time management, and resilience. They learn the importance of teamwork and collaboration while gaining firsthand experience in creative problem-solving under real-world conditions. Live theater also encourages students to step beyond their comfort zones, build meaningful connections with peers, and discover new talents and passions. Whether performing on stage, designing costumes, managing technical elements, or working backstage, everyone involved contributes to something larger than themselves and experiences the unique sense of accomplishment that comes from creating live art together.
